Healthy Breakfasts

Breakfast is the first, and most important, meal of the day. After going without food for hours and hours during sleep, your body is craving a nutritionally balanced meal to kick-start your body into action, and provide energy for your busy day ahead.

Skipping breakfast is one of the worst ways to start your day; it will ensure you become tired, irritable, restless and entirely lacking in concentration. And if you’re watching your weight, it will only force you to overeat throughout the day - during other meal times - and most likely cause you to reach for some calorie-laden, unhealthy snack before lunch time.

A good breakfast can fill you up and provide you with much needed energy to start the day with a smile on your face. This is especially true in children – research has shown that kids who eat breakfast are more likely to meet their nutrient requirements, such as calcium, iron and other important vitamins and minerals. Research has also found that kids who eat breakfast demonstrate better academic performance than children who skip breakfast.
