The Importance of Breakfast
In the morning, your body needs to refuel for the day ahead after going without food for 8 to 12 hours during sleep. Breakfast helps kick-start the body's metabolism, the process by which the body converts fuel in food to energy and gets you going for the day. Skipping breakfast can make you feel tired, restless or irritable.

People who don't eat breakfast tend to consume more calories throughout the day and are more likely to be overweight. That's because someone who skips breakfast is likely to get famished before lunch time and snack on high-calorie foods or overeat at lunch.
Research has shown that people who eat breakfast are more likely to meet their nutrient requirements such as calcium, iron and other important vitamins and minerals.
