2000Vegemite Limited Edition Placemat OfferFor those who really love Vegemite, the new millennium was kicked off with the chance to get your own Vegemite plate. The theme for the plate offer was "The Future is as bright as bright can be", celebrating the optimism of entering the Year 2000. The plates were a limited edition design, which Australians could only get by buying Vegemite. A new television commercial and colourful supermarket displays were specially created to support this promotion. The response was overwhelming! |

The Vegemite logo is embossed on to the top of the lid and the back label carries a short story about how Australia's favourite spread came to be. Happy Little Vegemites in the new Millennium The Happy Little Vegemites Awards were first launched in 1996 inviting primary schools around the nation to perform their rendition of the famous 'Happy Little Vegemites' song. In 2000, the refreshed program with a new theme "The Future is as Bright as Bright Can Be", celebrates the new Millennium. The awards proved to be so popular again, that for the second time Vegemite was able to give children the opportunity to shine. From the entries received, it's clear that both teachers and students put a huge effort into their entries, to create their vision of what life might be like in the years to come. Each school demonstrated an abundance of teamwork and creativity, and as a result, over 450 entries were received, representing everything from energetic renditions of the 'Vegemite Song' to imaginative outer space interpretations.So when it came time to pick the winners, the judges were faced with a tough task of sorting through the talented entires. Finally, after long deliberations, the vibrant performance from Craigmore Christian College of South Australia was chosen as the overall national winner. It was a really tough decision as every entry was packed full of creativity, colour and enthusiasm. Craigmore Christian College received the grand prize of $78,000 to be spent on educational facilities for the advancement of the school. The 2000 Happy Little Vegemites Awards program was also broadcast on the Internet, and as part of the Vegemites congratulations prize, all winning entries were posted for viewing on www.vegemite.com.au. |
2001Welcome Back to SchoolIn January 2001,the children of Australia were welcomed back to school with a new television advertisement that included a series of video clips from the Happy Little Vegemites Award entries. It was another way of Vegemite rewarding the children and wishing them the best start to the new year. |

| Vegemite fans were invited to collect tokens from under the lids of 455g Vegemite jars to redeem for the collectable mug. The mugs featured a unique futuristic rocket design and came in a specially designed box.
Response to the promotion sky rocketed beyond expectations, as it seemed that all Australians showed their enthusiasm for this Aussie icon spread. New Advertising Campaign In 2001, a new series of Vegemite TV commercials, which are all about the Vitamin B properties of Vegemite were released. These fun ads are about healthy growing cells, soft skin and instant energy - all of which result from a diet high in Vitamin B. And we all know that Vegemite's Australian heritage makes: "Vegemite. A part of growing up" |
2002In the spirit of previous limited edition offers, 2002 saw the addition of yet another unique Vegemite breakfast item, the Vegemite Placemat.In the months of April to August 2002, consumers were strangely attracted to the Vegemite shelves in supermarkets around the nation. All the commotion was centred around the collection of Vegemite tokens from under the lids of specially marked jars to redeem an interactive Vegemite magnetic placemat. Thousands of children were introduced to the offer on pay TV. Mothers were informed through magazines which all helped to generate an enthusiastic response. |
